• PLEASE NOTE: This is not the Sunny Back up System this is the individual SBU5000 unit that is a component within the SBS and is available for purchase on its own as a single component.

• The SBU5000 is used as an add on to a PV Grid Connect system to allow automatic switch to stand-alone power supply within approximately 20 milliseconds of a grid failure.

• Requires a 48 volt battery bank and SMA AS-Box M or greater

• The Sunny BackUP system can be integrated into existing and new PV plants without affecting the efficiency of the PV.

• Please NOTE: THE DATA SHEET ATTACEHD IS FOR THE SUNNY BACKUP SYSTEM which the SBU5000 is a component of.

How Does it work? The starting point is the PV system: during normal operation, one or more Sunny Boys feed the solar power generated by the PV system into the public grid, with high efficiency. Only in the event of a grid fault or failure does the Sunny Backup system become active. The switching device disconnects the PV system and the loads from the grid in compliance with the appropriate standard. While the system is switched to the domestic grid, the battery continues the loads' power supply after just 20 milliseconds. And the Sunny Backup 5000 functions as a system manager, coordinating all switching operations such as disconnection from the grid, and transfer to the PV system, for example. Thus, every grid failure is compensated reliably.
